Amazon is launching a Spanish and Multilingual mode for Alexa, which will allow users in the U.S. to speak Spanish to supported Echo and Alexa-enabled devices.
In Multilingual mode, you'll be able to switch between languages, which means you can talk to it in English and Spanish simultaneously. If you ask a question in English, Alexa will reply in English, and if you ask the next question in Spanish, it'll reply in Spanish. This makes a lot of sense for homes where both languages are spoken.

The new feature includes a new Spanish voice for Alexa, which you can activate by choosing "Español (Estados Unidos)" via the Alexa app. Alexa will tell you the news and weather, control your smart home, and set reminders, etc.—all in Spanish.
In addition to the new modes, Amazon rolled out new Latin music playlists, including urban artists on the Sin Filtro playlist; dance music on the Tierra Tropical playlist; regional mexicano music on the Fierro Pariente playlist; and artists like Ozuna, Nicky Jam, and Sech on the Puro Reggaeton playlist.
