Safari on the iPad has several settings that affect which Web pages store cookies and what URLs are saved. Cookies help websites identify you, but some users prefer to browse anonymously and without leaving a history. Clean out your history or your iPad will keep a record of all the websites you have visited within the past few months. If you want your iPad to forget what you have done during each session, you can enable private browsing to create unique browser sessions.
Step 1
Open the "Settings" app on the home screen of the iPad. If you cannot find the Settings app, perform a search for it by sliding to the final screen on the left and typing "Settings" without quotes in the search field.

Step 2
Tap "Safari" from the menu on the left side of the screen and then clear the history by tapping "Clear History" on the right side of the screen.
Step 3
Clear any stored cookies by tapping on "Clear Cookies and Data." Clearing cookies may affect how websites respond to you, including which landing pages you see when you visit them and whether a website remembers you without asking you to log in. This action also includes clearing your cache, which could affect what a website looks like when you return to it.
Step 4
Remove other kinds of website data that may be stored by tapping on "Advanced," followed by "Website Data" and then "Remove All Website Data." This data may include passwords and other tokens used to identify you or add functionality to a site.
