YouTube is an online video repository with a social component in addition to the free video storage it affords its users. Namely, YouTube allows users to connect with and befriend one another based on common interests as established by the content of their user profiles or the videos they post, for example. Locate specific YouTube users via any of several means.
Step 1
Enter the user's user name into the "Search" field at the top of YouTube. For example, if you're looking for the user "johndoe123," input the name into the "Search" field and press "Enter." Click the linked name below any of the videos that come up to visit the user's profile.

Step 2
Navigate directly to a user's YouTube homepage. YouTube formats its URLs as follows: youtube.com/user/username. The homepage of user "johndoe123" is therefore located at youtube.com/user/johndoe123.
Step 3
Locate a user whose exact name you don't know by cross-referencing one of his or her videos whose name or subject matter you do know. For example, if you want to befriend the user who recorded the entire 2009 Madonna concert in Paris, search "2009 Paris Madonna" to bring up all the videos shot at the concert. Scroll through the list of videos until you locate the user name in question, then click it to visit that user's profile.
