How to Restore Deleted Text

Losing important text and data can be frustrating, especially if you have been working on the text for a while. Luckily, Windows contains several commands and features that enable you to restore deleted text. You can recover deleted text within just a few seconds and get back to working on your project. With the ability to restore deleted text, you'll never have to worry about losing crucial information again.

Step 1

Hold down the "Ctrl" button and press "Z." This keyboard shortcut recovers deleted items, deleted text and moved items.

Click "Edit" and click "Undo" if you are using Windows-based programs, such as MS Word and MS Excel.

Open the Recycle Bin and locate the text document. Right-click the text document and click "Restore."
