Tagging allows users to specifically identify organizations within Facebook statuses and comments.

Facebook does not allow users to tag organizations in photos, but the website does allow organizations to be tagged in status updates and comments. Tagging an organization in a status update is useful for users who want to specifically point out that organization to anyone who reads that update as it provides a direct link to the organization's Facebook page within the update itself. Tagging an organization within a status update or comment can be done with just a few extra keystrokes while typing the update.
