While you may be upset that a contact suddenly disappeared from your Facebook friends list, that disappearance does not always mean that the user blocked you. Check whether a former friend blocked you by visiting her profile after logging out of your account.
Check Whether Someone Blocked You
Step 1
Enter your former friend's name in the Facebook search bar and check whether you can find her profile. Alternatively, if you know her username, go to her profile page by visiting https://www.facebook.com/X, replacing X with the contact's username.
Video of the Day
If you can find or access her profile, the contact either is still your friend or simply opted to unfriend you without blocking you.
On the other hand, if you cannot find her in the search results or if her profile page displays a Sorry, This Page Is Not Available message, that person has blocked you, received an account ban from Facebook or decided to delete her account.
Step 2
Launch an alternate browser or log out of your Facebook account in your current browser. Go to Google and enter Jane Doe Chicago site:facebook.com in the search box, replacing Jane Doe with the user's name and Chicago with her actual hometown. Select her profile from the search results.
If you are able to see your friend's profile, the user chose to block you. Conversely, if you see a Sorry, This Page Is Not Available message when visiting your friend's page while being logged out of your account, your friend either chose to delete her account or received an account ban or suspension from Facebook.
Consequences of Being Blocked
Being blocked by a contact on Facebook prevents you from:
- Sending her a friend request
- Visiting her profile
- Sending her messages
- Tagging her in photos
- Sending her invitations to groups or events.
