It took Sarah Winchester 38 years to intricately remodel her 24,000 square-foot San Jose, CA mansion into the weird, unfinished mystery structure it is today. The story goes that she designed her home in a way to confuse the spirits of those killed by the Winchester Repeating Arms' guns, the company she inherited from her husband's family. You can rent a tour video of the property for $5.99 or buy it for $13.99, which gives you access to rooms beyond the in-person tour.
